This week, Uber kicked off a new campaign to keep drunk drivers off the road.

The app-based transportation service, which launched in 2009 and is now available in 56 countries, set up an Uber Safe kiosk in Toronto that offers on-site breathalyzer tests. Users could blow through a disposable straw for six seconds to determine their blood alcohol level. If they were over the legal limit, the kiosk automatically dispatched a driver to provide that customer with a free ride home. With this move, the company not only encourages positive press, but also provides a valuable service to current and new users.
