360-degree video has been utilized by brands on Facebook and YouTube for awhile now, but never has a brand utilized 360-degree video experience on Snapchat. Sony Pictures set out to change that with a recent promotion for their new thriller ‘Don’t Breathe.’

The film is about a group of thieves that set out to rob a blind man. But once they break into the house, the blind man surprises the thieves placing them into “his world,” forcing them to try to escape all while experiencing it through his “eyes.” Sony created a 360-degree video that is linked to a Snapchat advertisement to advertise the new film. The video drops you into the blind man’s basement allowing viewers to experience the terror from the film firsthand.

Creating the first ever, immersive, 360-degree video ad on Snapchat, Sony has set a new standard for horror film fanatics. From bullets whizzing by you, to screams and loud crashes, the 360-degree video is certainly one of the most entertaining videos you will encounter.
