As if receiving a steaming hot pizza wasn’t good enough, Pizza Hut has designed a new pizza box that doubles as a movie projector.
This new box, called the Blockbuster Box, utilizes a lens and holds a smartphone, allowing users to project a movie from their phone screens. The box offers one free movie download using the provided QR code, and the free movie download is determined by the genre of pizza box that you receive: Action, Scary, Romance or Sci-Fi. This special projector box is currently only available in test markets in Hong Kong, however the markets may expand soon. Leveraging the common usage occasion of pizza/movie night, Pizza Hut has implemented this somewhat simple activation as a way to stand out from other pizza competitors & stimulate more word of mouth among consumers.
