Retail giants Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bon-Ton, The Buckle Inc. and Charlotte Russe are joining forces to target seasonal shoppers with a “Holiday Gift Guide” iPhone app. Major magazines like Seventeen, Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan are also participating in the app by providing their own gift guide suggestions. Users can browse items according to store, magazine guides or by entering data on the person they are shopping for. Once they have found their dream gift, users can click “Find it Near Me” to verify its availability at a local store.
