The National Audubon Society is targeting nature enthusiasts with a series of “Audubon Guide” apps for iPhone and iPod Touch. The guides give consumers a means to access constantly updated content on specific species, with or without an Internet connection (once content has been uploaded). Users can also create GPS-enabled sighting lists and photo albums. The apps are available in the iTunes store at $19.99 for the Birds guide and $9.99 each for Mammals, Trees and Wildflowers. Apps for additional subjects are expected to be added in the following months.
