Gap is targeting social-networking fashion lovers with “StyleMixer,” an iPhone app that allows users to throw together their own ensembles from Gap, post to Facebook and get feedback from their friends. They can also snap a photo of their own clothes and mix them into the outfits saved in their own customized “closets.” Users flip through others’ “closets” to post comments and even “steal” their clothing. The application also detects when a consumer is close to a Gap retail location and provides them with special offers.
